About the event
Let’s Shake it like Cubans do! Are your hips ready? Reggaeton is the hottest thing out there these days, and we see people dancing it in all kinds of ways, but I can assure you of something: Cubans are masters of this dance! Alexis Mora will have you work body parts you didn’t even know existed. The first half of the workshop will focus on reggaetón. With a Reggaeton foundation, we will then move onto REPARTO, which is a specifically Cuban music style and dance. Reparto is like urban music, but it should not be confused with reggaeton because its rhythmic foundation is entirely different. The DNA of Cuban Reparto is made up of Rumba clave and the “bomba” rhythmic section of Timba music. Even though it can incorporate reggaeton at will, Reparto has now become Cuba’s own trademark and it’s right now what you hear the most in the streets. Alexis Mora will show you the cool, lively moves that distinguish Reparto dancing, so when we play this music at the parties you’ll know exactly what to do!
